Brief Introduction:
Department of plastic and reconstructive surgery,HMC is a state of the art unit, serving patients from all over KPK ,GB and Afghanistan.It has been established in 1996-97 and is 14 bedded unit along with patient in private rooms and day case surgeries. It also offers emergency services in trauma especially hand and head and neck trauma round the clock. Moreover this unit is treating patients with head and neck tumors, congenital anomalies, post traumatic defects/deformities and also performing aesthetic procedures.
Beside all the above, plastic and reconstructive unit (HMC) is also a center of excellence for postgraduate studies and around 30fellows are trained who are serving in various part of the world and currently there are 11 postgraduate residents being trained in unit.
Future plan:
Our Future plan is to establish a specialized trauma and burn center in the premises of HMC which is under construction and will be functional soon.
Services / Procedures:
Reconstructive Procedures e.g Post traumatic defects, post burns . Paediatric plastic surgery e.g hypospadias,cleft lip/palate, ambiguous genitalia. Hand surgery e.g congenital hand anomalies, post burn and traumatic hand, paralytic hand. Head and neck cancers, skin cancers, soft tissue tumors. Aesthetic/cosmetic surgeries e.g blepharoplasty, abdominoplasty, rhinoplasty?
